2-3 weeks

Defined by a geometric silhouette and a series of stark linear planes, Chair 01 is a picture of simplicity. This is a direct consequence of the chair's archetypical sledge construction, which has not only imparted the seat with its distinct aesthetic, but also makes it reliably sturdy. Stackable and easy to store, the chair is crafted from a natural birch that allows it to suit a range of environments.

Story

Chair 01

Frama

Chair 01 is drawn from the seating found in Nordic auditoriums and churches since the 1800s — the kind of chair that gets stacked at the end of an evening and does not need to be admired.

The construction is archetypical rather than clever, which is where the sturdiness comes from. It stacks and stores flat.

It comes in natural, warm brown and dark wood, and in birch.

About Frama

A Copenhagen studio spanning furniture, lighting and self care, Frama works in natural materials with a plain, honest aesthetic.

Frama works from Copenhagen across furniture, lighting, kitchen and bathroom units, self care and fragrance. The studio describes what it makes as sensory human connection through the lens of objects and spatial works.

Natural materials are the starting point — oak, steel, stone, brass — left honest rather than disguised. The Shelf Library, Rivet and Farmhouse series run through the collection, built to be added to over time.
