Inspired by the local taverns around Portugal, called “tascas”, the Tasca Chair is a lightweight chair for both indoor and outdoor spaces. Made in natural aluminum with a distinctive finish done by hand, Tasca makes a very versatile piece. A chair soft in texture with a smooth, rounded form that encases the user. Tasca Chair intends to add personality and practicality to any bistro, canteen, restaurant, living room, or garden. All units are individually crafted and manufactured in Portugal, in one of the oldest metal furniture factories with more than a century of work experience and crafts tradition.

Tasca takes its name from the tascas — the local taverns of Portugal, where a table is something you pull up to rather than admire.
Pedro Sottomayor designed it for Frama in hand-brushed aluminium: a smooth top on a tubular pillar, fastened to a minimal pedestal. Light enough to move, and finished so that the lines between indoors and outdoors, home and away, are generously blurred.
Placed outside it develops a patina rather than rusting. The series runs from the table through a stool and a chair, all in the same metal.

Frama works from Copenhagen across furniture, lighting, kitchen and bathroom units, self care and fragrance. The studio describes what it makes as sensory human connection through the lens of objects and spatial works.
Natural materials are the starting point — oak, steel, stone, brass — left honest rather than disguised. The Shelf Library, Rivet and Farmhouse series run through the collection, built to be added to over time.
