Foster + Partners
Foster + Partners is the London architecture practice founded by Norman Foster in 1967, with a long parallel record in industrial design.
Ixa, designed for Artemide, is a task lamp built as a single folded plane. The whole body acts as the arm, so adjusting the light means bending the object rather than moving a joint.
The family runs across desk, floor and wall versions using the same folded geometry, in a small range of matte colours.
