A rack for the four pairs of shoes actually in rotation, not for a whole wardrobe.

It is folded aluminium, like the rest of what UTIL makes, and it works in two orientations: horizontally with the shoes lying flat, or vertically with them facing the wall. It stacks, and it can go on the wall instead of the floor.

Metal storage furniture made in Portugal, UTIL uses as little metal as possible and builds most pieces to order.

UTIL makes furniture for storing, organising and displaying what people keep. The collection grows slowly: each piece has to solve an ordinary problem — a dead corner, recurring clutter, something always lost — and then last.

Every design uses the least metal it can, as a principle rather than a constraint. Production stays in Portugal, close enough to visit, and most pieces are made to order rather than held in stock.
