Features
The Plié Single Shelf is part of the 2019 German Design Awards-winning Plié shelving system that offers simple solutions for organising, displaying and storing your belongings.
Designed by Cesare Bizzotto and Tobias Nitsche, the Minishelf uses the least amount of powder-coated aluminium possible which, folded, results in a lightweight, yet highly robust structure. The unit is fixed on the wall with just two screws that are left visible.
The Minishelf is perfect for displaying your favourite small objects, giving them a subtle and timeless frame. It can be hung as a single shelf or in groups, perfectly adapting to any interior space, from a minimalistic hallway display to a kitchen spice rack, and everything in-between.

Designed by FROM INDUSTRIAL DESIGN — Cesare Bizzotto & Tobias Nitsche
Cesare Bizzotto and Tobias Nitsche work together as FROM INDUSTRIAL DESIGN, and designed the Plié shelving system for UTIL.
Plié is built from folded sheet metal — the name is the operation. A single bend does the work that a bracket or a frame would otherwise do, which is why the shelves read as one continuous surface rather than an assembly.
The system extends horizontally and vertically from the same components, so a single shelf and a full wall unit are the same product at different lengths. It won a German Design Award in 2019.

About UTIL
Metal storage furniture made in Portugal, UTIL uses as little metal as possible and builds most pieces to order.
UTIL makes furniture for storing, organising and displaying what people keep. The collection grows slowly: each piece has to solve an ordinary problem — a dead corner, recurring clutter, something always lost — and then last.
Every design uses the least metal it can, as a principle rather than a constraint. Production stays in Portugal, close enough to visit, and most pieces are made to order rather than held in stock.
