Designed by Rodney Kinsman
Rodney Kinsman founded OMK in London in 1965, straight out of the Central School of Art, and much of what the company made in its first two decades went into Terence Conran's Habitat stores.
The T1 sling chair was OMK's first product. Conran bought it for Habitat in 1967 and it became one of the shop's best sellers — a bent steel frame with a slung seat, and one of the clearest early examples of British high-tech furniture.
The Orbit mirror followed in 1981: a large disc with a smaller magnifying mirror swinging around it, named for the way a satellite tracks a planet. Kinsman was later appointed Royal Designer for Industry.

About OMK1965
Founded in London in 1965 by Rodney Kinsman, OMK makes high-tech steel classics: Omkstak, T1 and Trestle.
Rodney Kinsman founded OMK in London in 1965, not long out of the Central School of Art. Much of what Habitat sold through the 1960s and 70s came from his drawings, starting with the T1 chair in 1967.
The Omkstak chair followed in 1972 and has passed a million units; Trestle, Orbit and the Tokyo stool came later. The collection is curated from Kinsman's own work and produced in Italy.
