Story

Tru

Sculptural, sleek, compact — and hiding its own light source.

Roberto Paoli composed Tru from two light panels forming a parallelepiped with an empty slot left between them. The LEDs are concealed inside and the light reaches you through an optical effect rather than directly: two internal strips plus an element on top, giving indirect and diffuse light at once.

Aluminium, with a single switch and a dimmer on board.

Designer

Designed by Roberto Paoli

Italian

Roberto Paoli stands out on the Italian scene for his versatility. After graduating in architecture from the University of Florence, he followed a professional path that led him to devote himself mainly to designing furnishing accessories as well as conceiving and curating exhibitions, initiatives and design culture events. The collaboration with Nemo led to the debut of Tru, nominated for the Compasso d'Oro in 2013 and winner of the Interior Innovation Award in 2014.

About Nemo Lighting

Founded in Milan in 1993, Nemo reissues lamps by Le Corbusier and Charlotte Perriand alongside work by living designers.

Franco Cassina founded Nemo in Milan in 1993. Part of the collection is archive work — lamps by Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand, Franco Albini, Vico Magistretti and Kazuhide Takahama, kept in production rather than left to history.

The rest comes from designers working now, among them Mario Bellini, Álvaro Siza, Jean Nouvel and Arihiro Miyake. The company is Italian and is owned by Federico Palazzari.
