Story
Lamps for the buildings

Designer

Designed by Le Corbusier
Le Corbusier designed lamps only when a building needed them, and each of the pieces Nemo produces comes out of a specific project rather than a catalogue.
The Lampe de Marseille was made for the Unité d'Habitation in Marseille around 1949–52: a wall lamp with two joints in the arm and a rotating fixing, so a single fitting could serve a whole room. The Projecteur 365 was drawn for the High Court at Chandigarh in 1954, and the Parliament floor lamp for the Chandigarh assembly in 1963 — both borrowed from industrial fittings, with cone diffusers that swivel between direct and indirect light.
Nemo produces these as authorised editions in agreement with the Fondation Le Corbusier, from the drawings for the Marseille Cité Radieuse, the Chandigarh Capitol and the maison La Roche in Paris.

About Nemo Lighting
Founded in Milan in 1993, Nemo reissues lamps by Le Corbusier and Charlotte Perriand alongside work by living designers.
Franco Cassina founded Nemo in Milan in 1993. Part of the collection is archive work — lamps by Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand, Franco Albini, Vico Magistretti and Kazuhide Takahama, kept in production rather than left to history.
The rest comes from designers working now, among them Mario Bellini, Álvaro Siza, Jean Nouvel and Arihiro Miyake. The company is Italian and is owned by Federico Palazzari.
