Sergio Mazza

Sergio Mazza was an Italian architect and designer who worked with Artemide in its earliest years.

The Alfa table lamp was the company's first commercial success, arriving before Artemide had properly launched as a lighting brand.

Its shape is a compact metal base with a spherical glass diffuser held in a ring — the kind of clear, repeatable geometry that set the direction for much of what Artemide made afterwards.
